ABOUT:

Doesn't get more French than this one! Gorgeous Belle Epoque garland ring with ornate floral shoulders depicting forget me nots. The ring face is also surrounded by a halo of leaf and flower garland. Textbook French design from the late 1800s in 18k with hand painted glowing red iridescent enamel panel at the center depicting a woman's portrait in profile.

The setting of the ring creates a beautiful frame around the portrait panel, like wearing a true work of art on the finger. The Limoges company were known for their expertly applied enamel work during the period. They utilized the best artists of the time who hand painted images such as these with exceptional detail. This one is signed on the back by the artist "Bonnadier Limoges." Jacques Bonnadier was a master artisan who excelled at creating iridescence like the glowing red seen on the veil of this ring.

Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold on the shank.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.

MEASUREMENTS:
The ring is a size 5. The ring face is about 20mm by 15mm. Weight is a sturdy 5.1 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

There is a notch to the back of the shank probably from a testing. It is still very stable and the shank has some engravings so it kind of blends into that. The edges of the inside ring face and shoulders are blunt and seem to rub against the finger when sliding the ring on but I did not find it uncomfortable to wear. This is just how it was made but something to note if you are selective on how rings feel.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
