]ABOUT:

I love antique navettes and this one is lovely with sort of chunky, squat ring face completely encrusted by the glittery cluster of old mine cut diamonds. It's fun to view from the side to see some of the high crowns popping out. Crafted in a rich, warm 18k yellow gold with slightly rosy highlights from age to the gold which is beautiful. It has a knife edge shank and there are three rose cuts set into each shoulder for additional sparkle. Just a classic, wonderful antique look.

HALLMARKS:
No hallmarks remain which is common for French pieces as they are marked in the back and often lost during a sizing or from wear. But sold to me from a reputable source in France where the standard is 18k and tested to confirm. The prongs are a white precious metal, likely platinum.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos. The zoom pics are required for detail which of course makes the pieces look bigger, so some of my customers draw them out to get an idea of scale.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

It is a size 6 1/2. It weighs 4.6 grams.
The ring face is 17mm north south by 9mm east west. It stands 5mm tall off the finger.
The center diamond is a larger size at 4.5mm and the others are 2.2mm to 2.5mm give or take. There are three small rose cuts set into each shoulder and one tiny old mine cut at each tip of the navette to make up the rest, these smaller stones measure about 1 to 1.5mm.
I would not remove them for exact measurements but just using estimates it is around 1 1/4 carat total weight in diamonds / 1.25Ctw. with some of the diamonds having nice high crowns.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Wonderful coloring and patina. Typical antique diamonds that read warm to gray, especially in low light. This is also partly due to some of the old mine cuts having larger, chunkier facets which reflect the light differently. Love the character of antique diamonds! One of the rose cuts at the shoulder is a replacement because it is a flatter cut than the others. Some with some faint natural inclusions, specks and frosty spots seen really only under magnification, nothing major eye visible and no dark or glaring carbon spots. One diamond has a nibbled area along one edge and has shallow flakes of loss to one corner. It still appears complete / round to the eye and fills the space in the setting so the diamond doesn't look cracked apart or anything, but if you study the surface closely you can see that it is a more frosty / unpolished area on one edge. Not glaring at all, but if you have really good eyes and are looking for flaws you might be able to make it out. I can't with my eyes which are in their 40s. The other tiny nibbles here or there to edge facets are seen only under strong magnification. All the diamonds are secure but some wear to a bezel or prong here or there to keep an eye on over time, as expected for a piece of this age.
