ABOUT:
Wonderful French antique triple diamond linear dangle earrings. Each is set with three old mine cut diamonds totaling about a carat between the pair, set in rich 18k gold. The top two diamonds are fixed onto the post which connects to the hinged back and ear wire. The largest diamond is connected by a loop to allow it to dangle independently to catch the light for more sparkle. The prongs are in a white precious metal, I think likely platinum, as was customary for the period to set diamonds in a white metal. Beautiful antique pair from the Victorian to Belle Epoque period, still elegant and relevant today.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
The diamonds are about 4mm / 3.3mm & 2.7mm give or take on each earring. Chunkier cuts. Exact measurements unknown as I would never remove them but using calculators and estimates by mm, I am getting 1 full carat total combined (about half carat each). The settings are 26mm from top of ear wire to bottom dangle. Combined weight is 2.8grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
As with all my pieces this pair is in estate condition. One of the ear wires appears to have had a weld repair at the top but it was tidily done. I did not notice it with my eyes while handling them until I really studied them. One of the larger diamonds has a nibble to the girdle edge seen under magnification. One of the middle diamonds has a frosty flake of loss on one edge and less clarity than the others due to some frosty inclusions. No dark or carbon inclusions to any. The others have faint inclusions under magnification typical for diamonds of this age but they are not eye visible. A worn prong here or there as is common for a piece of this age but the others have enough remaining length to hold all the stones securely. Some antique patina, especially to one with a darker area which could be polished up but most of my buyers prefer original patina. They are lovely to wear. But as with all my pre-owned pieces - Please note this is not a mint condition item.
