My favorite things about this chain are the bold extra large swiveling spring ring and the dog clip along with the geometric oval links. These pieces can be worn to the side or front as pendant holders. Short length wears as a choker or can be incorporated with other chains or extenders. The links are a chunky geometric paperclip link. Please note the measurements as it is short!
This French Victorian era piece is crafted 18k solid rose gold, which has a rich warm patina and areas that have a more yellow, buttery glow. And it is in really nice condition with no dings or bends or ripples, just surface wear and beautiful patina!
I purchased this in France. It has several hallmarks but many are worn, on the dog clip, the loops on both ends, etc. for 18k gold. So if you see what looks like a little spot or interruption on the ends, that is actually a small hallmark stamp for French 18k. Antique boxes / items in displays in photos are not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs a sturdy 17.1g. Stretched end to end it's 15 1/2 inches. The book chain links are 11mm by 5.2mm. The thickness / gauge of each link is about 1.3mm. Very sturdy quality hand feel.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Beautiful rich patina that has warmed the 18k gold - it has a beautiful glow and wears as antique rose gold (nothing like the vibrant pink rose gold of today). Some signs of it being worn from age, but still very stable. Some surface wear but this is only seen if you study it up close due to the mirrored finish. Sturdy, wearable and interesting piece in the solid gold version. There are no dark or colored spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it can reflect its surroundings. Impactful worn alone but also layers well with other pieces.
