I love figural jewelry so this one stopped me in my tracks when I saw it in the shop window in France. So here I have brought it home to offer to you.
My favorite thing about it is the delicious gold work, with satin texture to the interior of the wings contrasting with the high shine outline and raised areas. I just love French antique gold.
This is an antique piece from the Belle Epoque era - so Art Nouveau! With beautiful detail to the face of the dragon which holds a rose cut diamond. Swirling details to the base which holds a dangling pearl.
Chain in photos is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
32mm from jump ring to dangling pearl by 25mm from wing to wing. It weighs 3.6grams.
No legible hallmarks.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned with some age to them so they are in estate condition. But this looks to be in excellent condition to me. Just a tiny nibble to the diamond girdle under magnification, but the piece has held its shape perfectly. Nice texture with satin areas and shine with beautiful gold patina, it is very beautiful in its coloring.
But by disclaimer as always due to age is this piece is not in mint condition.
