ABOUT:
Beautiful French antique stud earrings in 18k white gold. Each one holds an old mine cut diamond in an elegant minimalist prong setting. Each diamond is about 3.2mm give or take, for around 0.2 carat each / 0.4carat total weight.
Would be a beautiful something old for a bride.
French hallmarks for 18k gold on the posts with a goldsmith stamp.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
3 to 3.2mm for each stone, with a nice depth. I would not remove the stones but around 0.4 carat total weight in diamonds for the two (0.2 carat each). They were sold to me as a quarter carat each but I'm not getting that with my measurements so I'm going with the conservative end.
The pair weigh 1.15 grams combined.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamonds with a very faint natural inclusion here or there, all seen only under strong magnification. Slight difference in hue and one is cut more square - these things are only noticeable when off the ear and comparing them side by side. No chips although the girdles are a bit uneven / nibbled, again not seen while wearing.
A worn prong here or there but all the stones have enough prongs remaining to hold them securely. (Earrings by nature usually are gently worn.)
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
