French Antique .4 Carat Old Mine Cut Clear DIAMOND Geometric Ring 18k GOLD Platinum

ABOUT:

French antique geometric ring with stepped sides in buttery 18k gold. The rectangular ring face is in platinum holding an old cut diamond as was customary for the period to set diamonds in a white metal. Sturdy piece with a beautiful glow and sparkle.

Any boxes or props used for staging are not included.
Marked with the French hallmark for 18k gold and platinum on the outside the band.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Currently a size 7 3/4 on my ring sizer mandrel. It weighs a very sturdy 7.6grams. The diamond is about 4.5mm so just using estimates as I would not remove it, around .4 carat. Ring face is 11mm north to south.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. The stone moves and makes a clicking sound when you tap it. One of the prongs is completely worn back but the other three sides hold it to ensure the stone doesn't fall out, I think it's possible they were tidily re-enforced - this is wear we expect to find on a piece of this age. Typical antique diamond with a few nibbles to the girdle edge under magnification only. There is also the thinnest sliver of loss to one of the side facets but it is not frosty like we usually see, it appears uneven but still polished. Even studying it under magnification, I had a hard time detecting it and it is not eye visible. To the eye it has a lovely sparkle. Still wearable. But with all my items - Please note this is not a mint condition item. There are no dark spots to the gold, it just reflects its surroundings in some light.
