ABOUT:

Unique antique ring with three old cut diamonds set at an angle across the wide band. Very interesting design that has a timeless feel, still relevant and on trend today. One of the diamonds is an old mine cut and the other two are old European cut. It is quite normal in antique pieces to have varying cuts on the same piece as the goldsmiths created pieces with the stones they had available to them.

French hallmark for 18k gold. This piece is in antique yellow gold with a buttery glow and rosy highlights from aging to the alloys (as it wasn't an exact formula across the board back then) which gives these antiques a coloring like no other. Nothing at all like the vibrant pink rose gold of today.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
Antique boxes / items in displays, mice ; ) in photos are not included.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

It's a size 7 on my ring sizer mandrel. It weighs a sturdy 8.4 grams.
The ring face is 11mm north south, tapering to 5.3mm - so still quite wide / sturdy at the back.
The center diamond is about 3.5mm, the flanking two are about 3mm give or take.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Some surface wear and antique patina. Some nicks to the gold and deeper scratches that can catch the light due to the mirrored finish of the shiny gold work. There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it reflects its surroundings.
Evidence of a sizing to the back where you can see some seams and difference in hue to the back section of the shank. It has a slight curve here and is slightly out of round as seen in pics which probably occurred during the sizing.
No glaringly eye visible inclusions. I love all antique diamonds and some of my favs in my personal collection have hues and inclusions typical for the time, because some of those were still among the best available in the market during that period, and were expertly cut by hand to enhance their best characteristics. So I don’t often like to compare antique stones against modern grading standards - BUT center / largest diamond, for an old stone has particularly nice clarity, so even though the stone was made long before the 4 C's existed, it sparkles really beautifully. One of the smaller diamonds has some frostiness and a shallow chip / flake of loss to the surface seen under magnification. It still appears complete / round to the eye.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

Thanks so much for looking at my items!
