ABOUT:
Magnificent antique French 18k gold ring with reticulated details of flowers, stems and leaves in a navette shape. Textbook Art Nouveau design with the swirled ring shoulders, each set with a tulip or lotus flower. A raised sash of heart shaped bezels holding 5 rose cut diamonds crosses the center to add sparkle and a lovey accent. The gold is a buttery 18k gold with rosy highlights and a satin finish which was typical in the Art Nouveau era. It is just wonderful looking at it under magnification and seeing how the raised areas of the ornately detailed floral design have a rosy shine from organic wear over the years, and yet the floral designs are still so legible and crisp.
This is an antique piece that I acquired in France from the Belle Epoque period. Beautiful form to this setting, highlighted by the sparkling old cut diamonds and wonderful bloomed gold patina.
In better than most condition with the mostly lovely patina, very sharp details, and no deep scratches, dings or dents. It seems it was stored away or worn only for special occasions. I so wish I could keep her but she's looking for a good home.

HALLMARKS:
This is marked with a goldsmith mark that I could not decipher and the French eagle head mark for 18k gold.
MEASUREMENTS:
Currently measures a size 4. Should be easily sizable but I always recommend showing pictures to your local jeweler for sizing advice since everyone's skill and opinion are different. The ring face is 20.5mm by 7.5mm and the diamonds are small, slightly under a millimeter each.
CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are preowned and in estate condition. This piece seems in better than most condition with beautiful bloomed gold patina and very sharp artwork. Typical old rose cut diamonds with some inclusions and irregular facets as they were cut by hand. They are small enough that you don't see any issues with them while wearing but can see the irregularity of the cuts under magnification. The prongs look great and all the stones are secure. Surface wear if anything but no deep scratches, dents or bends. But my disclaimer as always since I deal in antique pieces - this is not a mint condition item.
