ABOUT:
Lovely antique garnet dangle necklace with a large oval garnet on top from which extends three linear dangles - each holding an additional rose cut garnet followed by a teardrop / pear shaped garnet. I got this in Sweden. Beautiful crimson red coloring and the largest top garnet has a purplish glow from within when light passes through it.
Beautiful color and sheen on the stones and the buttery gold glows with the sturdy but still dainty cable chain. A few spots of patina that could be polished up if desired but most of my buyers prefer original patina.
HALLMARKS:
It is stamped 750 on the chain, which is the numerical hallmarking system used in Europe for 18k gold, also has the Swedish crowns and some other makers stamps.
MEASUREMENTS:
Weight is 5.8g
End it end 16.5 inches long. The top garnet is 12x6mm, with a 41mm dangle from top of oval to longest teardrop dangle.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
