ABOUT:

Hauntingly beautiful early 1800s Georgian era ring with beautiful, crisply embossed floral shoulders. Georgian floral works are a special favorite of mine! The ring face is also especially striking with a glowing natural cabochon ruby surrounded by a halo of black enamel with rivet details.

Inside the ring face the piece is personalized with initials and a date of 1818.

No hallmarks remain as is common for a piece of this age. Tests at 14k gold.

MEASUREMENTS:

Size 7 1/2. Ring face is 12mm north to south. The ruby is 4.8x4.2mm. It weighs 3.8 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. But considering age of over 200 years, I am impressed. The ruby has nicks, some deep linear scratches and natural inclusions seen under magnification but to the eye it has nice sheen, amazing color and lovely glow from within. Likewise the enamel is also in very good shape with no major loss, just surface wear. There is a ding and patina inside the ring face not visible when wearing.

Like all my antiques - This piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
