ABOUT:

I'm in love with antique garnets and these Georgian era earrings are so wearable, you can dress them up or down. Deep crimson red color with a glow from the back with teardrop shaped flat cut garnets in gold collets with domed backs. The stones and settings are from the Georgian era, the ear wires appear to be a later modification.

HALLMARKS:
No hallmarks remain, they test at 10k and up, so possibly 12k?

Antique box is not included.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pics. Antique boxes, props, staircases and bannisters ; ) not included.

MEASUREMENTS:
The stones are 7-8mm by 5-6mm each. They dangle 25mm from the top of the ear wire to the bottom. The pair weighs 2.45g.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The garnets have some natural inclusions seen under magnification. There are also some nicks along the girdle edges and a small gap between the base of each top stone and the collet. You can see the nicked edge of one if you study it very close up in a reflection of light but with normal wear it is not very visible unless really seeking it out. Some build up around the stones, not sure if it may be adhesive or just age related as I couldn't soak them. With the closed backs you should avoid getting them wet.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
