GYSPY Setting Create Your Own Three Stone .45 Carat Tall Old Mine Cut Diamonds 18k Gold French Antique Victorian

Here is a chunky antique ring that would be a great setting for the buyer to customize with their local jeweler. Sturdy antique three stone gypsy with two chunky cut old mine cut diamonds flanking a center synthetic ruby. The ruby is damaged making this one a great opportunity for the buyer to set a new stone of any type or color desired at the center, making use of the fabulous patina, antique setting and hand cut diamonds. If it doesn't sell, I will probably take it in to have the center stone replaced but the repairs can get time consuming and cost prohibitive so I thought I'd offer it up as is. The piece would go up in value considerably with the center stone replaced.

I love how the chunky diamonds crop out of each side. They are each about 3.6mm but with the deeper cuts, measure almost a quarter carat each for a total weight of just under half a carat.

Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold.

Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7. The ring weighs 5.8 grams. The bezel for the ruby is about 3.5 by 3.7mm just measuring the visible opening. The ring face is 6.7mm north south and 3.7mm tall off the finger to the raised center stones.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The center stone is most likely a throw away. It is a synthetic ruby with scuffs and a break on one side and it teeters in the setting. The diamonds are fun, chunky cuts and it is a sturdy and lovely antique setting.

Typical old cut diamonds with some natural frosty inclusions, one very slightly eye visible, the other slightly eye visible with a larger inclusion that reflects in the stone, but no dark or carbon spots. This is not real obvious to the eye unless looking for it, they add a nice chunky sparkle. One diamond moves slightly when you tap it but still appears secure in the bezel with no edges of the girdle visible.

Discolored seam at each shoulder I think from a sizing. Sold as is.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any glaring issues above and they are all still wearable.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
