ABOUT:
What is this little doodad? I think I have seen them connected to brooches but this is just a little finding that may be useful to have on hand when building your neckmess / neck stack.
This is an actual French antique piece.
It has a hook on one end, a very dainty chain, and a curved hanger looking element on the opposite end that opens like a pin. Perhaps it hooked onto a button or something? I thought it would work well as an extender or a unique pendant holder.
Antique box and additional slides, pendants, chains, etc. not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos where I am required to show zoomed in photos for detail. That is one reason I include a group shot to hopefully help show scale : ).
It is 18k gold. I can't find any hallmarks, probably because it is so dainty and was originally connected to something else.
MEASUREMENTS:
17mm long, the little hook is 8mm and the hanger end is 13mm wide. Weight is very dainty 0.5g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
