HEART Floral Clover FRENCH Antique LOCKET 2.9g Tricolor 18k Gold Solid Pearl Pendant

ABOUT:
A sweet heart locket with engraved floral details on the front set with pearls.

This is an antique piece from the Belle Epoque era that I acquired in France. The patina is just fantastic with green gold accents and rose gold in the engraved recesses contrasting with the rich and buttery, glowing yellow gold body of the locket.

There is paper and a cut plastic film inside one side to tuck a photo behind, or photos could be added to both sides with tension tucking them under the rims.

Any props or additional items shown are not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos. This one particularly seems to show larger in photos than it actually is, they are the actual item (and my actual hand) but perspective in photos is hard : ) .

I can't find a gold purity stamp but it clearly is. It is marked "Depose" which is the French word for "Registered". It is very similar to our use of patents - so it is signifying not only "made in" but also "copyrighted/registered/patent protected" French design. And we know that "French law requires all gold jewelry to have a minimum purity of 18 karat" as it is their standard there, so we can be confident of the fabrication.
There is a goldsmith stamp on the loop.

MEASUREMENTS:

28mmx21mm. It weighs 2.9grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned with some age to them so they are in estate condition. She shallow linear impressions to the cover that look like a ripple here or there and some shallow pinhead dings to the back. It needs a gentle hand because if you squeeze it too tight when closing it, the thin gold flexes and that will cause more ripples over time if this is done repeatedly. One should handle it by the rim. It does snap closed and stay closed securely but is not watertight.

Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color, but it also highlights the surface wear, scratches, that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description. As there are some scratches and scuffs but beautiful gold patina, it is very beautiful in its coloring.

But by disclaimer as always due to age is this piece is not in mint condition.
