ABOUT:
Wonderful French antique bangle bracelet with beautiful swirling designs and sturdy hand feel with 18.5 grams of solid 18k gold. Substantial enough to wear alone but also beautiful in a stack.
I got this beauty in France. French hallmark for 18k gold inside, used primarily in the 1800s and discontinued by 1918. Rich antique patina like only French 18k and their special alloys used at the time (no exact formula across the board) which gives them a coloring like no other. Not a vibrant rose gold but a lovely rosy warmth with buttery highlights. Beautiful designs. At the center is a heart cartouche that could be engraved / personalized if desired.
Antique boxes, props, extras, etc are not included. Listing is for the one piece shown in the cover photo.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs a sturdy 18.5 grams of solid gold. 8 1/8 inches with a tape measure wrapped around it. I have a very small wrist at 5 1/2 inches and it is too large for me, although I may be able to keep it on stacked with other pieces. Inside diameter is about 63mm. It is about 0.8mm thick. Flexes ever so slightly but is quite sturdy with a nice quality hand feel.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
One discolored spot on the inside from where it was welded, I wonder if this was the original connection point because there is no evidence of an interruption to the pattern on the outside. Edge is blunt from the thin gold when you rub your finger against it. Not uncomfortable to wear though.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable.
Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
