HEAVY Art Deco Star SAPPHIRE French Ring 15.1g 18k White Gold PLATINUM Wide Band Chunky

ABOUT:

HEAVY synthetic star sapphire glowing blue orb ring set in 18k solid white gold and the bezel in platinum. French antique piece from the Art Deco period, it is quite a chunky with a wonderful glow and very clear, vibrant star reflection even in ambient light. Sleek and THICK domed shoulders and closed back, it has a wonderful quality feel on the hand with the sturdy weight of over 15 grams! A warm glow to the white gold from age.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Snug Size 6. Shank is 14.mm north south at the ring face tapering but remaining wide all the way around, the gemstone is 12x10mm. It stands 8.5mm off the finger. It's weight is a very hefty 15.1 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The white gold shank has a subtle warm glow from age to the white gold, this is also apparent to a greater degree when you take the ring off and look inside the shank where it has made contact with the finger over years and years. The sapphire has a shallow chip that is eye visible, it's about 2mm in size. Noticeable due to the texture difference where the shallow flakes of loss leave a rough spot compared to the glossy surface. It is seen more in direct sunlight where it catches the light and less visible with normal wear, I wonder if this is something a jeweler could bench polish / buff to improve? There is an additional frosty scuff to the side of the stone, similar in size but less visible due to location. Still a beautiful color and heavy / quality fabrication.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
