ABOUT:
Current antique jewelry trends: old mine cut daisy cluster, antique diamond gypsy, stackable antique diamond bands. I can't seem to get enough of these and they always seem to sell quickly and consistently.
Super sturdy gypsy ring with a little over half carat transitional cut diamond in an engraved openwork scrolled setting. Nice quality hand feel. The buttery glowing antique gold displays the crisply detailed high relief scrolling details. Thick gold to the domed ring face where the back inside behind the stone is the only opening to allow light to pass and the shoulders are thick 18k gold. Sometimes we see the ring faces hollowed out to reduce weight and gold use but this one is quite sturdy, crafted in 9.5 grams of buttery, glowing yellow gold.
The gypsy ring was incredibly popular during the Victorian era into the early 1900s for both men and women, and its timeless design remains an ever favored and wearable choice for today.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
French hallmark for 18k gold.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 9.5 grams.
Size 7 1/2. The ring face 8mm north south. It is 4m.2m tall off the finger.
I do not remove my stones from their antique settings for exact measurements but the diamond measures about 5.2mm for a little over half a carat weight / 0.5ctw.
CONDITION NOTES:
The diamond is eye clean and bright white. The piece has been re-tipped where gold was added to the prongs making the stone super secure and the piece ready for daily wear. There is a tiny hairline crack at the very back next to the hallmark strike which must have weakened the gold there. It does not run all the way through and the gold is super thick and sturdy so it will not be a problem whatsoever when it comes to safely wearing it.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
