ABOUT:

I am reaching for all my favorites to list first and this one is pretty awesome. The ever popular sapphire with chunky old mine cut halo, but what is special about this one is its weight (over 10 grams in 18k gold) and the raised / two layer wide shoulders. It wears almost like a chunky signet ring but then you have the amazing color and sparkle of the cluster at the center. I've had many sapphire diamond halo rings over the years but can't recall one this sturdy or substantial. This French antique piece is in a warm rosy 18k gold hallmarked with goldsmith stamp (partial stamps but still recognizable.). It is extra sturdy because you have the wide shank around the finger, but then an additional wide strap of gold at the shoulders of the ring so it is double thick in those sections.

Quite a lot of fun to wear as it really packs a punch.

Comes as pictured WITH the antique box. I don't usually include the boxes as they have value on their own but I thought this one deserved to be housed in a special casing.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5 3/4, the face is 15.5mm north to south tapering to 3mm at the back and the cluster is 13mm wide. It stands 7mm off the finger. It weighs 10.85 grams. Each diamond is about 3.5mm give or take and the sapphire is 8x6mm. I am getting around 1.7 carats total weight in diamonds since there are 10 of them, just using estimations as I would not remove the stones.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

All my pieces are preowned and in estate condition. The sapphire has chips and loss to the girdle edge on one side. Sorrows, sorrows, but we see this sometimes with older pieces. It still has the cushion shape but if you study the one edge you can see the unevenness and loss / imperfection to the shape. The halo does help mask that. It also has a few top facet abrasions which the sunlight photographs I am providing will highlight and accentuate more than normal wear as they catch the light. Typical antique diamonds, two have tiny nicks and one has a small carbon speck inclusion that is slightly eye visible but these things are seen mostly under magnification. Some inclusions to the sapphire also under magnification but it has a beautiful coloring and is not heavily included. Some wear to the prongs but I think it was re-tipped with a laser as it appears tidily done. Uniform surface scratches to the gold. There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings, including the trees outside the window. Fun one to wear and stack, extra sturdy fabrication!

But as with all my estate pieces - Please note this is not a mint condition item. I have additional photos/video besides those allowed here so feel free to request additional.

Thanks so much for looking at my items!
