This is a two for one - incorporating two lucky symbols into one piece. Figural 3D horn pendant with an applied lucky number 13.

Both of these motifs were considered good luck and very popular during olden times. The horn is traditionally worn to bring protection, to symbolize abundance and to ward off evil.

The number 13 was traditionally considered a lucky number in some European countries prior to World War I, and was used in numerical form as a good luck symbol during the Victorian to Art Nouveau period. This would be cute on a split ring with the lucky pig I have listed separately to wear as an amulet. : )

It has French hallmarks for 14k gold which is where I found it, although I know the horn is often fabricated in Italy so it may have been made there for the French market. Not sure exactly how old it is being a sort of timeless symbol, but I suspect it is older, looking at the organic wear and warm patina. It clearly has some age to it.

I have never before seen one with the two motifs incorporated!

These are collectible because there are many styles and variations which make beautiful additions to a charm bracelet, amulet necklace, neckmess or neckstack.

It is real/ solid 14k gold, not gold plated or gold filled although the horn likely has vacant space in the middle, typically fabrication especially for this size.

The chain in the photos is not included but listed separately in the shop.

41 mm long (1.6 inch) to the top of the attached loop by 14 mm wide at the numbers (or half inch). Weighs 3.25g.

A little build up behind the numbers and some patina. I did not clean it because most of my buyers prefer antique / original patina. The shallowest impression like a smooth tiny ripple on one side, I thought there was one on the other side as well but it's just a spot of patina to the gold. It's an awesome piece - ready to wear.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, small nicks. They also may have some build up and some imperfections and other age related wear, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any glaring issues above and they are all still functioning and wearable. For pieces with more patina, this can always be cleaned up / polished by the buyer but most of my customers prefer original patina so I am selling them as is.

Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

I enjoy making my customers happy and matching unique pieces with new homes. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! It means a lot to me that you are visiting my shop! : )
