Large Natural SAPPHIRE .6 Carat Single Cut DIAMOND Halo Pendant 18k White Gold French Art Deco Midnight Blue

A beautiful Art Deco natural sapphire and diamond halo pendant. I had a French dealer friend in Paris once tell me that these are among the most popular styles in France where they prefer the more subtle sapphire color over more vibrant gemstones like rubies and emeralds or large diamonds. I have found in my years of selling that they are very popular here as well! I've sold many similar rings so here is an opportunity for a matching pendant.

It has an awesome deep midnight blue natural sapphire accented with wonderful sparkle to the single (and a few transitional) cut diamonds. Total diamond weight is around .7 carat estimated. Crafted in 18k white gold with the scalloped halo design.

Linear silk / needle rutile inclusions create a chevron pattern within the sapphire. Under lit magnification they can catch the light and reflect out almost like a star sapphire but with just linear needles of glow instead of the starburst shape. It is a very beautiful natural stone.

French hallmark for 18k gold. Any chains / props not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.

MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs a sturdy 5.1 grams. The pendant not including the bale is 23 x 16 mm and 7.4 mm deep with a domed back. The sapphire is 13 x 8 mm. The diamonds are each about 2.5mm so around .7 carat total weight in diamonds alone which aligns with what I was told when I purchased it.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

A few nicks to the sapphire but still a nice sheen and polish. Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and sparkle, but it also highlights any surface wear, scratches, abrasions, buildup or inclusions that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
