ABOUT:
I love French antique earrings and have had many, and these I feel are quite special. They are a larger size than many dormeuse earrings, with such a striking coloring with the satin yellow gold with rose gold recesses. The little engraved flower details are so sweet, representing lily of the valley set with little rose cut diamonds for sparkle. I have a matching brooch that would make a beautiful pendant, feel free to inquire if desiring a set.
Would be a beautiful something old for a bride.
HALLMARKS:
These have the French hallmarks used on 18k gold only between 1838 and discontinued in the early 1900s which confirms the age of the earrings.
The best thing about them is their condition. They appear as if they were never worn. The hinges are super springy and secure, with the lever backs snapping closed to the ear wire securely.
Antique box in photos is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
They measure about 18mm top to bottom, the lozenge part is 15mm east west. Combined weight is g.3.5
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
As with all my pieces this is in estate condition. Not much to report, they are in exceptional condition considering age. Typical antique rose cuts with some rough or frosty edges. They were likely always this way as they are small and meant to add a glint of sparkle. As with all my pre-owned pieces - Please note this is not a mint condition item.
