LILY of the VALLEY Rose Cut DIAMOND Antique Pendant Victorian 18k Gold Solid French Belle Epoque

My next stock drop is an assortment of charms and pendants! Most of these I purchased in Paris and were broken parts / elements from an antique brooch or another piece. The preservation of antique jewelry is important to me so I took them to a jeweler to have loops added on to be worn as a pendant / charm on a necklace chain or bracelet. Now they can be worn again for another 100 years!

No hallmarks remain. The pieces are crafted in 18k gold which is the standard in France and tested as such. The later added loops are 14k gold.

This one was a brooch but was broken and missing the pin back when I acquired it so I had it turned into a pendant. Gorgeous two tone gold work with buttery glowing yellow 18k gold with the engraved recesses being rose gold. The French had beautiful layered gold techniques giving it a patina like none other. The lily of the valley flowers and leaves are encrusted with rose cut diamonds. Two diamonds appear to be single cut but they blend nicely as the stones are very small and just meant to provide a glint of sparkle.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Typical antique rose cuts, frosty little rough cuts typical for the period. Some cloudiness / scuffs to the background behind the flowers that can catch the light due to the mirrored finish of that area.

Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and sparkle, but it also highlights any surface wear, scratches, abrasions, buildup or inclusions that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
