ABOUT:
Nice and clear hallmarks on this 18k locket ring dating it to 1875. The ring face has a hinged glass panel with a nice depth so it can be flipped open to small gemstones like a shaker locket, or a photo, etc. Satin finish the gold inside and a double ribbed shank.
Swedish hallmarks for 18k, date mark 1875, location Malmo, made by Nils August Malmquist.
These always need a gentle hand because we are dealing with intricate 150 year old gold hinges. But it opens and closes securely. The hinge wobbles a bit so I would again be careful with constant opening and closing's but it functions well. There is a weld at one shoulder.
A fun conversation piece.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7. 10.5mm north to south and 3.4mm thick / deep. It weighs 1.45 grams.
Quite uncommon and special.
Antique box is not included.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
