ABOUT:
Wonderful shimmering glow to this ornate necklace. While definitely antique in style, I don't think it was made that far back. It has some beautiful fancy elongated O links alternating with ball beads for a wonderful design and texture. But I believe it is vintage rather than antique. The clasp is my favorite part as it looks like a snake design from the Egyptian revival period. When I wore this one, I liked to situate the interesting clasp to the side or front to be visible. The loop clips into it with tension. The clasp therefore does not have any moving parts. I didn't find myself using the clasp much as it is long and slips over the head.
I purchased it in France but upon further inspection, I think it is from elsewhere in Europe? It is hallmarked on the loop but it is worn from age so I can't decipher it, but holds a 22k test (and certainly has the look of high cart gold with its rich, buttery shimmer). I purchased this with another high carat chain. They both seem to be 90% pure gold - so quite the quality piece. This is one that can always increase in value over the years as the cost of gold seems to continue to rise.
Rich patina to the high purity gold, it wears just beautifully. Antique boxes / items in displays in photos are not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs a sturdy 15.2g. Stretched end to end it's 27.5 inches. Each long link is 10mm and the gauge is about 2mm.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks, typical for pre-owned pieces.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
