ABOUT:
I had a "clean out the jewelry box" moment this week and decided to release several pieces from my personal collection.
I love floral jewelry (and dishes if you follow my shop and staging : ) and I love Art Nouveau jewelry and enamels so this one was right up my alley. It still makes me swoon but I just don't wear a lot of pinky rings. Just a beautiful and sweet floral ring depicting I believe a lotus flower with pearl accents and a little old single cut diamond. Sweet pinky or midi ring. Dainty piece.
I assume it is a conversion as the floral part is added to the hoop shank. The shank has old partial hallmarks for 585 - this is the numerical hallmarking system used in Europe for 14k gold. The gold reads as a warm rose gold with a lovely patina, not the vibrant pink rose gold of today. And the recesses and outlines are a glowing yellow gold. Wonderful coloring.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
It is a size 4. It weighs just 1.7 gram.
The ring face is 12mm north south by 10mm wide. The diamond is small - 1.8mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The shank appears hand wrought as it has some beveled areas. Under magnification it looks like it might have had some enamel detailing at one time as some tiny spots remain but that is not visible when wearing.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
