ABOUT:
This one is in my top five of the trip, the look and sparkle of the ocean blue natural zircon in graduating and varying colors are just wonderful to behold.
Not to be confused with "cubic zirconia", blue zircon is a sought after natural gemstone, one of the birthstones of December and can often be more scarce to find than many other gemstones. The center stones measures 10mm graduating out so I am getting a total carat weight of between 8 to 10 carats (depending on the online chart you use.)
I acquired this from a reputable dealer friend of mine in Paris although I do not think it is from France originally? No hallmarks remain but it tests at 10k. It does not appear to be antique, but Vintage to later Art Deco at the earliest I would say.
It would be a beautiful something blue for a bride.
MEASUREMENTS:
The center stone is 10mm, then graduating down in size as they extend outward on each side to 8.5mm / 7mm / 7.5mm / 5.5mm and 5mm at each end. It is about 7.5 inches wrapping a tape measure around it. It weighs 7.6 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. The stones have natural inclusions, some frosty / icy, some linear, a few with a warm hue. Some of the linear ones are eye visible and the frosty ones within the stone can catch the light. No chips or cracks, just a little faint surface wear seen only under magnification. Clasps functions brilliantly. The color and sparkle is wonderful. But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any possible traits significantly more than what is visible to the eye or while wearing : )
