ABOUT:
I had a "clean out the jewelry box" moment this week and decided to release several pieces from my personal collection. I love these French month medals - the way each has the month name in French and each is designed with a different "flower of the month" motif.
I have collected several of these over the years but I decided I didn't need allllll of them so I just kept the months relevant to me and my family and I am letting some of the other months go to new homes .
These are fun to wear throughout the year with the beautiful floral design, or especially if the month is relevant as a birthday, anniversary, etc. As such they make very unique gifts. They are actually somewhat hard to come by but because I assembled them over many years, I am able to list a few of them now.
This one is October - "Octobre" in French. It is crafted in beautiful tricolor gold, reading a rich, buttery yellow gold, with rose gold accents and green gold on the leaves. It has an engraved and raised design of grapes and vines, or possibly hops. It is set with a red paste stone.
French hallmark on the loop for 18k gold.
Any props not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos..
MEASUREMENTS:
Pendant measures 20mm wide. It weighs 1.25 grams - dainty hand feel with the delicate gold work so not a super heavy piece but striking and impactful design.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Loop was reinforced for strength so the patina is slightly different in that very small area but partial hallmark is still visible.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
