ABOUT:

Versatile and wearable French antique earrings from the Art Deco period in 18k white gold. The elegant bezel settings are the perfect holder to highlight the fiery old mine cut diamonds. They measure around .35 carat each for a total carat weight of 0.7 carat for the pair. Please do note the measurements! I am required to show zoom photos which makes it difficult to determine scale.

These are nice and fiery stones as well, one being completely eye clean and the other with one with only very slightly visible inclusion that is nested right against the bezel.

Set in 18k white gold with French hallmarks, the backs are firm and reliable Mecan push buttons. The bezel setting almost serves as an illusion setting, making the 4.5mm diamonds appear a bit larger with the accent of the milgrain white gold surround.

Would be a beautiful something old for a bride.

The push backs are hallmarked for 18k gold with a maker's stamp. The earring posts are also hallmarked with the French mark but it's such a small space, it is only partial.
Comes as pictured in the antique box with the blue interior. I believe it may have been an old button box but I thought the pop of color behind the bright and sparkly stones is beautiful.

Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Each stone is about 4.5mm and about 35 carat for a combined weight of 0.7ctw for the pair. They weigh 2.1 grams combined. The back of the bezel setting measuring up to holding the diamonds stands about 4.5mm off the earlobe.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

As with all my pieces these are in estate condition but really no damage to report. The diamonds are excellent with no nicks, chips. One is completely eyes clean and the other has one frosty / icy inclusion near the bezel. They have the very slightest warmth typical for antique diamonds and an excellent fire. Note - The push backs are Very firm (see note below how they work).
With the little hinged push button you have to hold it in and really push hard on the earring to get it to latch in place. But once in, they are not going anywhere. Quite sturdy and the bezels are in good shape so for an older pair of earrings these are better than most. The gold is beautiful and it is a very sweet pair.

The push backs are the Alpa style with the push buttons to secure them at the end of the earring post. They are spring loaded with little “buttons” on each side so you squeeze the push back to run it down the post. They cannot be pushed in all the way to the back of the earring as the back is closed so they only clip to the end. However – they are in No danger of falling off because with the push buttons, they latch onto a little catch at the end of the ear post, meaning the push backs cannot be removed unless you manually press those little buttons on each side.
