THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT ~

ABOUT:
Special, and uncommon Victorian bracelet in its ORIGINAL fitted box with beautiful wide link chain link and a dangling double sided locket with beveled bloodstone set into each cover. This would make a wonderful gift as it is hard to find pieces like this. This one has so much going for it, with the box, the 3/4 inch wide cuff appearance still on trend for today, and the unique locket as an added touch.
I got this in France, it has a French goldsmith stamp and hallmark for 18k gold on the clasp insert.
Antique Box IS INCLUDED : ) (they usually aren't, thus the shouty caps : )
Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
6 3/4 inches stretched end to end not including the latch insert which goes into the clasp. The chain link band is 19mm north to south on the wrist or 3/4 inch. The locket is 15x13x7.5mm. It weighs 12.4 grams.
I have a 5 1/2 inch wrist and it fits me well to where I can't take it off without opening the clasp, however it could fit a larger wrist as well, as it spins freely on mine.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
As with all my pieces this is pre-owned and in estate condition. The bracelet chain is constructed with hollow links that can sort of wiggle and rattle when you handle it. Of course when it is tight on the wrist this does not happen but just trying to describe the hand feel. Surprisingly though there are no deep pin dings or punctures. The locket is quite sturdy as well.
I do see two spots of darker gold solder on the link holding the locket. It must have just needed to be fortified so the patina in those two spots doesn't quite match and that link has a few shallow ripples. The safety chain is missing but the clasp functions well, it has a double catch system, where the clasp catches twice so you have to hold the button down while opening for security. Wear and discoloration to the box of course due to age.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
