ABOUT:
Fabulous shimmering antique watch chain with rare and uncommon decorated spring ring and dog clip which have laurel leaf/ acanthus / wheat designs stamped into each of the connecting ends.
The piece is crafted in 14k gold with rectangular bar link chains assembled in color blocked sections of white gold and yellow gold alternating. The color blocks are varying lengths but super fun two tone chain and it really glimmers in the light.
Note that this is an antique watch chain and it is short, at 14 1/4 inches. It fits me well as a short layering chain or choker but neck sizes vary of course so definitely please note the dimensions. I once had a buyer not check the measurement on a similar length chain and angrily asked after receiving if it was for a cat or a baby - haha! : ) - (need a sense of humor to do this job sometimes - tee hee! ; ) so I can't emphasize the measurements enough. Could also be used connected to another chain or with an extender like a fun XL shepherd's hook, etc.
This one may actually have more value with the components divided up and offered individually as these decorative antique spring rings and dog clips are quite sought after right now and valuable on their own - but I didn't want to break up the complete piece. No hallmarks but I bought it from an antique jeweler who sold it as such and I tested to confirm.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Some of my buyers "draw out" an example to get an idea of scale in person.

MEASUREMENTS:
14 1/4 inches in length - short chain. Weight is 7.9 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Some patina but still perfectly functioning. I see in the pics a dark area on the connector loop of the spring ring. I think it's a bit of solder? I was able to clean some of it away after taking the pics, but it appears sort of silvery there on one side - not sure if it was made that way and the solder aged but the piece is stable and does not appear broken or fragile. Just a patina difference in that small spot.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
