OVAL .8 Carat Old European Mine Cut DIAMOND Cobblestone Cluster Ring 18k Gold Platinum French

Those of you who follow me know that I love antique diamond navettes for their drama and sparkle with the nice size footprint - this one is even easier to wear as it has the impact but with a low profile and rounded edges, so it is more oval. Beautiful all original French Belle Epoque period antique diamond cluster ring. This one has the original hallmarks used primarily in the 1800s and discontinued by 1918. It is set with 15 old cut diamonds, a mix of old European and old mine cuts, for a total of around 0.8 carats.

Ribbed shank, this piece has the most beautiful buttery. Ring face is topped in platinum as was customary for the period to set diamonds in a white metal.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Size 6 1/4, slightly over. It weighs 3.4g. The ring face is 17mm by 10mm. Each diamond is 1.5 to 3mm in diameter. I would never remove them to get exact measurements but just using estimates by mm, I am getting around 0.8 carat total weight.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
A worn prong here or there but all the stones are secure. But this is something to keep an eye on over time, as this is what we often see on pieces of this age in original condition. As many collectors prefer this original condition they opt for more special occasion wear or may decide to have their local jeweler reinforce for more regular wear (recommend finding someone with a laser welder). Typical antique diamonds with some faint natural inclusions but I can't detect any of this with my eyes which are now in their 40s : ). No dark or carbon inclusions. Also typical in that some have a slightly warm hue but nothing glaring. Really beautiful sparkle and patina.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
