This one has such a great antique look with a mix of old cut diamonds!
Super sparkly and eye catching French antique ring in 18k rosy gold topped in platinum to hold the oval cluster of 17 old cut diamonds. Antique diamond clusters are always among my most popular pieces and this is a very lovely one with the mix of old cuts giving it a lovely sparkle. The halo consists of 14 rose cut diamonds which reflect the light differently than the center three prong set old mine cut diamonds. An additional rose cut is added in a raised design at each shoulder for a total of 19 gems. It's beautiful, a timeless design still on trend for today. Sleek knife edge shank that has wonderful antique patina and a beautiful rosy hue.
When you look at the shank from the side there appears to be a burr to the gold on the shank - this is NOT a defect, it is actually the French hallmarks for 18k gold and platinum. This ring is a Paris find.
Antique box, props, stairways and bannisters ; ) not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 3/4. It weighs 3.5g. The ring face is 14x9mm and stands 6mm off the finger.
The center diamond is an oval old mine cut measuring about 3.9x3.3mm. The flanking two old mine cuts that are raised in the center line are about 2.3mm each. The 14 rose cuts in the halo and the two rose cuts set into the shoulders are about 1.5 to 1.8mm.
Depth of stones varies and I would never remove them for exact measurements but just using my caliper, honesty, and estimates we are getting a total carat weight of around .8carat.

Typical old rose cut diamonds with some inclusions and frosty spots, one has a nick. They are small so this is not really visible to the eye, they just add a nice glint of sparkle. One appears quite frosty all the way through but it also has buildup behind in the hard to reach bezels. I did clean it but I don't like to over scrub my multi gemstone antique rings.
The old mine cuts have a nice bright white color and great clarity with no eye visible inclusions. A worn prong here or there to keep an eye on over time but all the stones are secure.
