ABOUT:
Nice footprint and sparkle with the interesting mix of old cut diamonds. The ring face is oval with a center prong set old mine cut diamond with wavy background, surrounded by a halo of rose cut diamonds. A lovely geometry and sparkle. The open work underside of the ring face is designed with triangular shaped cutouts.
Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold.
Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 1/2. The ring weighs 2.85grams. The center diamond is about 3.5mm and the outlining are about 2.5mm. The ring face is 14x12mm and 7.5mm tall off the finger with the raised center stone.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The center diamond has some shallow flakes / shards of loss along one area of the outside facets. It still appears complete and round to the eye but you can see the uneven, frosty and unpolished area when you study the surface at an angle in that area. One rose cut has similar loss and another has some chips to one area of the girdle edge.
Typical old cut diamonds with some natural frosty inclusions, nicks, frosty and irregular edges. They are small so this is not real obvious to the eye unless looking for it, they just add a nice little glint of sparkle.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any glaring issues above and they are all still wearable.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
