ABOUT:

Several personal collection releases in today's ring drop, some tough ones to let go but I try to make a habit of dialing back on kept inventory from time to time. I need to move some things for my spring inventory trips.

I purchased this one from an antique jewelry dealer with all my Christmas gift money one year. : ). I love figural floral jewelry and especially pansies but I have several pansy rings at the moment so I am letting this one go. The flower is set with deep purple amethyst, pearls and a turquoise in collet settings for a lovely pop of color. Probably my favorite part about it are the embossed shoulders that we see on pieces from the period. Dates to the mid to early 1800s.

No hallmarks remain, it was sold to me as 15k gold, I think British in origin. The pansy flower was used in Victorian times as a symbol of remembrance. The name "pansy" is derived from the French word pensée, "thought". It universally meant "think of me," so it would also serve as a very thoughtful or romantic gift or memorial item.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
Antique box not included.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5 1/2. The ring face is 11mm north south. It weighs 2.2g.

CONDITION NOTES:

There is a strap of gold inside the ring face I think to reinforce it as one shoulder shows some wear under magnification with a crease hairline to the gold. Not visible while wearing and the piece is sturdy and stable now.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

I enjoy making my customers happy and matching unique pieces with new homes. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! It means a lot to me that you are visiting my shop! : )
