PEACH 5mm Rose Cut DIAMOND Foiled Buttercup Antique PENDANT Victorian 18k Gold Solid French Charm

My next stock drop is an assortment of charms and pendants! Most of these I purchased in Paris and were broken parts / elements from an antique brooch or another piece. The preservation of antique jewelry is important to me so I took them to a jeweler to have loops added on to be worn as a pendant / charm on a necklace chain or bracelet. Now they can be worn again for another 100 years!

No hallmarks remain. The pieces are crafted in 18k gold which is the standard in France and tested as such. The later added loops are 14k gold.

This one was a pin head that now makes a lovely little diamond charm or pendant. The ornate fleur de lis prongs hold a rose cut diamond in a domed and foil backed setting. The foil is quite intact to catch the light and sparkle from within. From age it has slightly warmed to a lovely peach color, giving the stone a pretty warmth. It is not dingy or muddy or rusty, just a natural occurrence of age to the foil resulting in the lovely hue.

Dimensions: the pendant portion 8mmx5mm deep
Weight: 1.1g
Diamond: Like most rose cuts they have a lower comparative carat weight than a modern diamond but the surface area gives it the appearance of a larger carat stone. Rose cut diamonds are typically quite spready. The visible portion of this diamond is 5mm giving it the appearance of a half carat modern diamond, but exact carat weight is less and not known.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique rose cut, probably a thinly sliced disc, its depth is unknown as I would not remove it. Some faint natural inclusions. Some black spots that were intentionally painted in the back to represent the way a faceted diamond would reflect the light, similar fabrication to black dot paste.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
