ABOUT:
A pop of color and sparkle for your ring stack. French antique halo ring with center rectangular ruby (I suspect it is synthetic, a very popular choice for the period so I am selling it as such). There are 12 rose cuts in the halo and an additional one in a raised bezel at each shoulder.
Found in France. No hallmarks remain which is actually common for French pieces as they are marked in the back and often lost during a sizing or from wear. But sold to me from a reputable source in France where the standard is 18k and tested to confirm.
Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 8 1/2. The ring weighs 2.7grams. The ring face is 11x9mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Some worn prongs to keep an eye on over time especially around the ruby but it is held in place and does not move with a few prongs that are quite long. However it needs gentler wear with the others more worn especially on one side. I priced it lower than previous sales of similar for this reason. This is typical for age and could be reinforced for daily wear by your local jeweler if desired (you'd want to find someone with a laser welder and ask them to do the minimum possible vs. re-tipping every prong and unnecessarily over working the piece to make it "like new"). Most of my buyers prefer original condition and special occasion wear.
Typical old rose cut diamonds with some inclusions, nicks, frosty and irregular edges. They are small so this is not glaring to the eye, they just add a nice little glint of sparkle.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any glaring issues above and they are all still wearable.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
