Personal Collection Release. I know many of us antique jewelry addicts also have a passion for antique jewelry boxes. Here is a fine one from my personal collection that I purchased in France.

ABOUT:

This is an antique perfume / soap box from the Belle Epoque period made by the company Roger & Gallet Paris that I have used as a multi-ring holder. The piece is made of a sturdy cardboard wrapped in a maroon faux leather liner that is stamped with metallic gold fleur de lis on the lid and around all sides. I love the original ornate metallic gold antique sticker inside with the maker's name and Paris in ornate font. That and the fleur de lis - it is so French!. The inside of the lid and box are also lined with the maroon textured paper.

I purchased this antique box in France. Inside is a movable velvet multi ring holder insert that holds about 21 of my rings (depending on the size). I kept a vacant space to one side to serve as an additional compartment for small charms. These antique boxes are collectible in their own right which is why I purchased it and converted it for jewelry with the addition of the insert. The insert can be easily moved or removed but as I used it as a ring holder, I thought I would sell it as such. It is always fun to store our antique treasures in antique housing.

I have enjoyed using it but thought it was time to pass it on. The lid removes completely (it is not hinged). It is sturdy but it is cardboard so it does flex some.

Jewelry in the display is not included (but is available : )

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

(length x width x height): 20cm x 9 x 4.2 cm

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. We are talking about 140 year old cardboard so there are signs of age and wear. Some of the maroon wrap is peeling or wearing back, especially on the edges and corners showing the cardboard underneath. There is a tear to the back underside seam but the box is still stable. The box does flex some at the sides but opens well and closes sturdily. Lightweight hand feel since it is made of cardboard. Surface wear and some loss to the metallic foil on all the fleur de lis. The sticker is pulling away on one side but is still complete.

Still usable and beautiful! But my disclaimer with all my estate pieces - due to age, please note this piece is not in mint condition.

Thanks so much for looking at my items!
