ABOUT:
This one is so me! I love floral and leaf jewelry. I love French jewelry. I love the Art Nouveau movement. This piece is all three of those.
Delicious glowing gold work with figural design of roses and leaves and bows - the patina and texture is just amazing. This antique necklace / chain is a French Art Nouveau piece from the Belle Epoque period. The chain links lead to the two roses which are connected to the bow dangle by two smaller chains. Small pearl accents and and two single rose elements add additional elegant detail to the chain.
Beautiful rich antique patina to the 18k gold with multiple French hallmarks on the loop of the clasp and catch indicating all parts are solid 18k gold. Wonderful glow and amazing figural detail with a very legible and striking design.
MEASUREMENTS:
The chain is about 17 inches in length. The piece weighs 6.4 grams . The bow with the dangling floral element is 27 x 12mm to give you an idea of scale.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The piece is in very nice condition -The gold work is stunning.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
