ABOUT:
My favorite thing about this chain is the fabulous antique shepherd's hook pendant holder. It looks great worn to the side or can be fashioned to the front to serve as a pendant holder. Many reproductions of these are on the market but this is an actual Victorian antique. Short length wears as a choker or can be incorporated with other chains or extenders. The links are a box chain with warm antique patina. The hook has a little latch that flips over the end to secure it. Please note the measurements as it is short!
This French Victorian era piece with hallmark for 18k on the hook. And it is in nice condition with no dings or bends or ripples, just surface wear and beautiful old gold patina!
Antique boxes / items in displays in photos are not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 7.9 grams. Stretched end to end it's 14 1/4 inches. The book chain links are 2mm gauge. The hook is 31mm long.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
