I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:

Heavy heraldic crest wax seal pendant depicting a shield with lions and a rook / castle, with a crown and knight's helmet above. The design of the crown symbol signifies the level of Nobility to be that of a Marquis (higher than a Count, Viscount, Baron, Knight, or Lord.). Of course now France is a republic and there is no royal family recognized by the French state, but as is the case here, the owner likely had a title and could trace their nobility back to the French royal family.

This could be worn as a chunky pendant, on a watch chain or chatelaine set - perfect to add to a neckmess or neckstack with a wonderful quality and sturdy hand feel weighing 8 grams. With all its design elements it makes a great conversation piece. I have a matching wax seal listed separately if a set is desired.

French hallmark for 18k gold, the gold has a warm rosy patina from age to the alloys. It's beautiful.

Chain is not included but it looks beautiful on a daintier chain or is substantial enough to be the centerpiece for a watch chain necklace.

MEASUREMENTS:

Weight of 14.5 grams so it is quite heavy. About 26mm tall to the top of the loop, the base is 25x20mm.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

No major condition issues, just surface wear and patina. Could be polished up but most of my buyers prefer original condition.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
