ABOUT:
Tall figural star ring set with an oval natural ruby that has a wonderful dusty rose, deep mauve / pink coloring. The raised openwork setting with tall ring face is crafted in 14k gold.
Stamped 14k inside.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale. Antique box is not included.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6. It is 12mm north to south on the finger and 6.8mm off the finger. The ruby is 6.3x5mm oval.
The piece weighs a sturdy 3.6g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
On the underside of the ruby, not super visible while wearing unless you are studying it and looking through the stone, there is a large oval area of loss. This is inside the ring face and occurred before the ring was made / when the stone was cut. It was either a weak area from natural inclusions that came free or possibly was always there on the original stone because the cutter seemed to cut around it in that the bottom facets are off center, like they avoided the area.
So this is not damage as it is original condition. You can see it especially in bright light looking through the stone, when the area catches the light almost like a facet would. The stone is still complete / oval to the eye and the top side is in great condition aside from one nibble / nick to the girdle edge in one spot.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
