ABOUT:
This striking Victorian era antique pocket watch case would make the most beautiful pendant for your #neckmess or #neckstack. Crafted in 18k gold, it has an engraved pattern on the cover of little stars with thirteen rose cut diamonds set in the center and additional engraved stars around the outside. All diamonds are original and present and perfectly matching. Always fun to find on very old pieces with small stones. The rim of each cover is also embossed with an ornate floral garland pattern. It had an additional bale added at some point.
Note that the inside watch mechanism does not work. It is not overwound / jammed but doesn't seem to want to tick. I do not know what it would take to repair it so I am selling it as is with no guarantees as to the watch - As is. The watch mechanism could be removed to wear the piece as a shaker locket to hold small gems or charms, or worn as an amazing pendant with the clock facing the back.
French antique hallmark used primarily in the 1800s on the neck of the crown.
Chain in photos is not included. Please note the measurements as it is difficult to determine scale in photos.
MEASUREMENTS:
About 36mm to the top including the loop, by 24mm by 12mm deep. It weighs a sturdy 13.1 grams but of course this is not the gold weight since the watch mechanism is inside.
IMPORTANT CONDITION DETAILS:
All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition considering age. As mentioned the watch mechanism is inside and does not work and I can't guarantee that it will because I don't know anything about antique pocket watch repair. I am selling it as a pendant. Some surface wear and patina and age related wear as seen in photos. Quite a lot of ripples and shallow impressions to the rim between the two covers.
