STARS Victorian Antique 16.5g 9k Gold Solid 13.7" CHOKER Necklace Rolo Belcher Watch CHAIN T Bar

Beautiful Victorian antique chain in 9k rose and yellow gold with a T Bar on one end, a dog clip / clasp on the other and wonderful chunky rolo links separated by three spacers that have star cutouts on the flat side and stamped star designs on the edges. Also interesting to see that each little link is slightly beveled / faceted, giving the links the appearance of hand wrought / hammered gold.

I acquired this in London last year and I enjoyed wearing it around! This fits me as a choker but it is a short chain at about 13.75 inches so I find it fits me a bit more comfortably with an add on like the folding button hook seen in photos which I also have available. A shepherd's hook or larger split ring would also work well to add some length.

The patina is just fabulous, with a rich, rosy gold patina and when you look at it under magnification, you can see organic aging to the gold revealing a yellow gold glow on the insides of the links. It's so beautiful!

Stamped 9C with an old style font for 9k gold (the standard in England) on both the T bar and the clip and the first chain link closest to the clasp. It actually held strong a 10k test in multiple places. While I often offer many French antique pieces where the standard is 18k gold, I have quite a few lower carat gold pieces in my personal collection as well. They are often more durable and have lovely patina and a great antique warmth so I don't really discriminate when it comes to carat of gold, especially when the piece has delicious patina such as this.

MEASUREMENTS:
Sturdy weight at 16.5 grams of solid gold (not plated or gold filled).
13 3/4 inches end to end. The gauge is 5mm. The star designed links are 16x7.5mm and 3.5mm deep.

Again please check your measurements as we lovelies all come in wonderfully unique shapes and sizes : ) - and this is a short chain. I once had an angry buyer contacting me after purchasing a chain of this length:
"Is this for a CAT?!?
Is this for a BABY?!?)"

It fits me nicely at a short length but I suppose it could also be worn by a youth (or a cat if desired).
(Gotta have a sense of humor in this business sometimes - tee hee : )

CONDITION:

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition with signs of their age. Completely functional, clasp works well, T bar spins nicely in the little bracket. Organic surface wear which has resulted in a wonderful antique patina of rosy and yellow gold, but no dings or dents to the star design connecting components. One chain link on the very end nearest to the T bar has a slight ripple but the rest appear nicely rounded and any potential irregularity would be masked by the awesome beveled facets on each link. It is a sturdy piece with many years left.
