ABOUT:
A special daisy cluster ring with a unique mix of old cut diamonds in open backed setting. Two of the diamonds are table cut and the rest are old mine cut, some with more rectangular shapes and Peruzzi qualities (although I have not taken it in because the gemologists around me would not be familiar.) Some with giant culets, just really fun old hand cut diamond.
I can never source enough cluster rings but this one stands out from the crowd with its special stones, as table cut diamonds are one of the earlier methods of diamond cutting and are quite collectible. I believe the table cuts in the cluster actually older than the piece but were incorporated into the fabrication when the ring was made around the late 1800s to turn of the century. The stones are hand cut of course and are not uniform, with the setting made to accommodate them giving the piece an organic feel compared to modern machine made pieces. I just love it.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5 1/4, a little over.
The diamond center is about 3.8mm / .25 carat. The others are 3 to 3.5mm each. I would never remove the stones from their antique setting and I'm not sure how to estimate well the carat weight of table cuts but with the size of the diamonds it has the appearance of at least a 1.25 carat cluster.
The piece weighs 3.15 grams. It stands 5mm off the finger. The daisy cluster face is 12x11mm
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamonds with some slightly warm hues. And most have faint natural inclusions including one having a larger gray silk inclusion. That one is eye visible the others are much less noticeable, specks or frosty spots seen mostly under magnification.
The two table cuts show their age each having an area with shallow flakes of loss. The stones still appear complete to the eye and fill the setting, but you can see the uneven, frosty and unpolished area when you study the surface at an angle in that area. One table cut has this at one of the top corner facets, the other has it on the underside so the frosty spot is seen when looking through the stone.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
