Tall Antique Old European Cut DIAMOND Stud Earrings 14k GOLD .8 Ctw Eye Clean
Tall Antique Old European Cut DIAMOND Stud Earrings 14k GOLD .8 Ctw Eye Clean
ABOUT:
Beautiful antique stud earrings in 14k gold. Each one holds a .4 carat old European cut diamond in an elegant minimalist prong setting for a total of .8 carat combined / 0.8ctw. Lovely antique patina with warm highlights. The backs are firm and reliable screw backs which function perfectly.
Would be a beautiful something old for a bride. The settings are deep with nice and long prongs holding the diamond which has a deep pavilion, propped up in the center, suspended to catch the light and display beauty from all angles.
No hallmarks remain but sold to me as 14k from a reputable antique dealer and tested to confirm.
Antique box not included.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Each stone is about 4.5mm and about .4 carat for a combined weight of 0.8ctw for the pair. They weigh 1.85 grams. The prong setting holding the diamonds stands 6.5mm off the earlobe. The base of the setting leading up to the prongs is 5.7mm in diameter.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
As with all my pieces these are in estate condition but really no damage to report. The diamonds are excellent with no nicks, chips or frosty spots. They are completely eyes clean with a lovely bright white color and an excellent fire, especially considering they are antique stones that were cut long before the 4 C's for mathematically perfect machine cuts stones were invented. The screw backs are sturdy and the prongs are in excellent shape so for an antique pair of earrings these are better than most. The gold is beautiful and it is a very sweet pair. For the screw backs, I noticed one screws in a bit further than the other leaving a 3.5mm gap between the screw back and the back of the earring when it is screwed in all the way. On the other one, the threaded post meets the circular back of the screw back leaving a 4mm gap. Just wanted to mention it as these do not screw in all the way to the earring, this is how they were made and is not a defect. But as with all my pre-owned pieces - Please note this is not a mint condition item.
