Versatile day to night French antique Perpignan Garnet earrings with circular and teardrop rose cut garnets in collet settings.

These earrings are called "Day to Night" or "Day and Night" because you can remove the dangling pendant portion and wear just the gold garnet studs alone. Then when evening comes, you can add the additional drop pendant to make them more fancy for dinner or the ball. This gives an additional added versatility in that you could wear the dormeuse parts in the ear, and hang one of the pendant parts on a chain as a matching necklace if desired. They are quite clever with the pendant parts added by a loop to the ear post before fastening them on the ear.

There are hallmarks on the ear posts but I can't decipher them, but it was sold to me as 18k which is the standard in France and tested to confirm. One push back is stamped 750, the numerical hallmark for 18k gold, but that push back is a replacement.

Please note the measurements. I always include them in each listing but people tend to miss them - I have to show zoom photos for detail which can make it hard to determine scale.

Antique box not included.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

34mm dangle, the top garnet is 5mm and the pear is 8x5mm. Pair weighs 2.4 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

As with all my pieces these are pre-owned and in estate condition. Some surface wear to the stones but a lovely glowing red color, sheen and polish. Some build up and antique patina, these shoulda void getting wet.

These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
