THE TIARA Ring 277 Single Brilliant & Rose Cut DIAMONDS 1.5 Carat Vintage 14k Gold Silver 1.3" Tall Ornate Lattice Grid Statement Stacker
ABOUT:
THE Tiara ring!
This ring would look so much better if I had longer fingernails because it takes up so much real estate on the finger. (I tell ya, I get one gel manicure in 20 years and it destroys my fingernails for weeks on end!) Oh well! Hopefully this ring can speak for itself.
This vintage statement ring features 277 diamonds (if my multiple attempts at counting them all is correct) with 16 brilliant cut diamonds raised in bezels, one pear shaped rose cut at the top and piles and piles of little single cut diamonds completely encrusting the rest of the ring face and shoulders. The diamonds are small but because there are so many of them, the total carat weight is about 1.5 carat.
Found in the French Riviera on my recent sourcing trip, the back of the shank is 14k gold with the ring face in silver. I'm not sure exactly when this vintage ring was made but it clearly has some age to it with a nice patina to the silver allowing the diamonds to glitter away. Unbelievably eye catching and ornate.
Despite its imposing size it is actually comfortable to wear. French hallmarks on the back for 14k and silver stamped for the secondhand market. There is also a 925 stamp for the silver face inside the ring along with an 18k stamp inside the shank, but it tested for me at 14k as well. I think it was sized at one point so perhaps that is why the outside of the shank is testing at 14k.
A fun one to wear with the sparkle factor of so many diamonds.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size: 6 3/4
Ring face: 1.3 inches north south / 33mm.
Weight: 7g.
The raised bezel set diamonds are about 1.5mm each and all the tiny ones are about 1mm each. Exact carat weight is unknown as their depths and exact sizes vary but estimated around 1.5 carat.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
So many stones and not a single one missing. None are loose, the piece is quite sturdy, although I always recommend gentler wear on rings with many small stones. Some solder bubbles at the back where the silver meets the gold shank. Varying warm hues to the diamonds, some of this is from build up to the back as the small openings make it hard to clean. A bit more of a gentle soak and brushing would likely brighten up the stones but I don't like to over clean my pieces, especially those with so many little stones.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
