Toi et Moi French ANTIQUE .65 Carat Old Mine Cut DIAMOND 18k Rose Gold Stacker Double Band

Sweet little toi et moi (you & me) ring set with nice size old mine cut diamonds. The stone stones set an an angle lead to the tapered shoulders which are crafted in a rosy antique 18k gold. It is set with old mine cut diamonds, around .3 carat each for .6 carat total weight. Layers well with other pieces. This is a smaller sized one that wears well as a pinky ring.

Making this piece even better are the long prongs making this one ready for daily wear.

The tradition of giving toi et moi rings to represent the love between two people dates back centuries, but the style was brought to the attention of a wider audience when Napoleon Bonaparte proposed to Joséphine de Beauharnais with one. Other famous rings include the toi et moi given to Jacqueline Onassis by John F Kennedy in 1953, but the popularity of this two-part style of ring was at its peak during the Edwardian and Belle Époque periods.

I acquired this in France although I don't recognize the hallmark. Might be a partial goldsmith stamp? Sold to me as 18k from a reputable source and tested to confirm. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from the pics.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 4. Ring face is 9mm north south and 4.5mm tall off the finger. It weighs 2.4 grams.

Exact depths of the diamonds and thereby exact carat weight is unknown / approximate as I would not remove them but using estimates it is around .65 carats in diamonds. The old mine cuts are each about 4mm.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Typical antique diamonds with some faint natural inclusions seen only under magnification. Prongs are excellent.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
