ABOUT:
Unique and fabulous coloring on this chunky wide band five stone. The top of the ornate band is set with alternating stones: three grape purple almandine garnets alternating with two old French cut yellow sapphires. The sapphires have a wonderful almost lemon lime green and a fun old cut where the stones appear more square with large tables, an open culet and a four sided star shape when you look through the stone.
This beautiful color combination is prong set into a warm, rosy 15k gold setting with scrolling details at each shoulder.
British hallmarks for Birmingham, 15k, date mark 1875.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 3/4 The ring face is 7.3mm north to south. It stands 3.8mm off the finger. Weighs 4.1g. The center stone is about 5mm with the others 4mm and 3mm tapering down.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
There is a round surface chip / flake of loss on each side to the center garnet. The stone still fills the space and appears complete but you can see these with the eye if you are looking for them. Otherwise wonderful color, sheen and polish.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
